Reading Group

Thursdays, 5:30PM – 6PM, beginning 11/18/22

Group reflection relies on individual reaction. Our starting point is the body, resilience and trauma. Our work is in group dynamics and relationship. Our presence is uniquely beneficial. Rainy day reading is an online group that meets weekly, Thursday, 5:30-6pm to discuss therapist Resmaa Menakem’s take on race and our bodies. Rainy day reading is facilitated by Rose McCormick (she/her), a student in counseling psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute and a trainee at the Liberation Institute. This group is offered by donation, no one is turned away for lack of funds,contact Rose McCormick with questions or to make a reservation.

Couples and Chronic Illness Support Group

Mondays at 4:30pm beginning 9/12/22

A weekly community for couples and families who wish to share and receive additional support surrounding chronic illness, its emotional toll, and any surrounding issues which may arise and impact one or both partners.

Scott Macomber is a marriage and family therapist trainee who believes in the transformative power of emotion. For more than 30 years as a professional musician, Scott has used emotion as a powerful tool to reach audiences. Now, as a therapist, Scott is excited to help individuals, couples, and families heal, turn back towards each other, and grow. Scott is also a passionate husband and father of three beautiful children.

Joclyn Krevat is a marriage and family therapist trainee working toward a second master’s degree at TUW. In her previous career as an occupational therapist, Joclyn took a holistic approach to physical rehabilitation. Now, as a therapist therapist, Joclyn is excited to have pivoted her focus to emotional healing. Joclyn is from Brooklyn, married a nice guy. knows first hand about chronic illness, and is a dog person.

Couples and NonViolent Communication – 10 Week Crash Course

WHO: For couples and partners
WHAT: Learning non violent communication techniques
WHEN: Rolling admission

Let’s explore ways to communicate and share our truths with one another. Learn Non violent communication techniques, how to listen and deeper ways to connect. This group will give us spaciousness to share our truths and learn how we are being heard

Barbara is a therapist in training at Liberation Institute, and completing her second master’s in Child and Family Therapy at Alliant International University. Barbara has had extensive experience running peer-led support groups for over a decade and is grateful to be able to create a loving and kind space for supporting your inner journey. Barbara is a Bay Area native, mom, lifelong student, and would love to own a big farm full of rescue dogs.

Postpartum Family Support Group for Parents, Partners and their Babies

Time: Mondays at 4:30PM
For parents, partners, and the little ones

Transitioning into parenthood can be unique and challenging.  This support group is to hold space for your parenting journey. We will explore the connection with our children, and partners and talk about the parent journey.  You are welcome to show up solo as well to take the time to process and share what your individual needs might be. This group is to share ourselves and our inner worlds with those who might be experiencing similar issues. It is a space to have community, connection, and understanding for times that are different or isolating.

Mommy and Me Art Group

Every Wednesday at 12:30pm-2:00pm PST
For mothers, fathers, and children ages 2-7 years old

Let’s make art together with our kids and deepen our connection with each other.  It will be a fun group of art and singing songs as well as sharing our art with our friends in the group.  The art activities will include painting, construction paper, crayons, etc.
