We offer professional counseling and psychotherapy for adults, youth, children, families, and groups. Therapy services are provided by California licensed clinicians and interns. This program is the centerpiece of what we do.
At the Liberation Institute our approach is co-creative, compassionate, open-minded, and holistic.
After you contact us, we will work with you to make an appointment for a confidential and non-judgmental consultation. Basically, we listen to what’s going on with you, answer your questions, and offer some ideas and options on what you might do next. We can offer you counseling services at the Institute and/or referrals for treatment or support elsewhere. If you choose to see a therapist here, we will match you with someone based on your needs. Consultations are available to anyone.
All services are offered on a wide sliding scale. The Liberation Institute is committed to offering therapy and services to the entire community. While we do have fees and suggested donations, no one is ever turned away for lack of funds. Fees are discussed and determined on an individual basis in the initial consultation session.
The point is: come on in and if you have concerns about finances don’t let them get in the way.
With a diverse clinical staff of well over 60 therapists, we offer a wealth of helpful possibilities. Our dedicated team of licensed volunteers and psychotherapy interns are ready to help.
We have 2 main locations in San Francisco: Our main offices at an arts complex on 18th street called Activspace, and our Urban Retreat Center on Folsom street. For address and directions please see our Contact info and Directions page
