Oregon

Liberation Institute Oregon, based in Portland, is a community mental health clinic rooted in many years of service to underserved communities. We offer sliding-scale therapy, in person and online, for individuals, couples, and families and donation-based groups where no one is turned away for lack of funds.
We practice a heart-centered approach to healing, focused on your unique journey rather than the medical model of diagnosis where diagnosis, quick fixes, and standardized treatments prevail. We believe symptoms are not evidence of brokenness, but intelligent responses to living in a world that often makes thriving difficult.
Because diagnosis is not our focus, we are not reimbursed by insurance or government programs and instead rely on a community-supported model where clients choose what they can pay and those with greater access help sustain care for others. Our services are provided by graduate student therapists who volunteer their time and are closely supervised by licensed clinicians committed to teaching a liberatory approach to mental health.
At Portland Liberation Institute, our goal is to offer a safe, compassionate container where people are deeply seen, supported in reconnecting with their inner healer, and empowered to reclaim who they were before the suffering, because we believe mental health is a basic human right, not a privilege.
