Mindfulness, Emotional Intelligence, and Jung: Working with Trauma in San Quentin.

March 16 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Mindfulness, Emotional Intelligence, and Jung: Working with Trauma in San Quentin.
Friday, March 16, 6-730p at 1227 A Folsom Street

During this training, Jesse will be talking about the work he has been doing for the last five years facilitating a prison program called GRIP, which stands for Guiding Rage Into Power. GRIP is a 52 week long intensive program which works on cultivating mindfulness, developing emotional intelligence, understanding victim impact and stopping violence. Through a combination of teaching, group process, somatic practices and collaborative inquiry, Jesse helps incarcerated men (most of whom have life sentences for violent crime) understand rage, anger, trauma, attachment, and how to heal themselves and others.  Jesse will also incorporate a Jungian perspective throughout the training which will better explain the mythological and archetypal dimensions he witnesses doing this type of work.
